The Abduction & Global Crisis
The story opens in the aftermath of a devastating attack at The Compound in San Marcos, Texas. A rogue US Army Colonel, Raphael Peterson, aided by Lieutenant Anson Everston, shot General Toby Dickinson and infiltrated the shapeshifter stronghold after bribing a turncoat recruit (who was subsequently murdered) to loop the security cameras. Amid the chaos, the conspirators successfully abducted Eddie, the royal family's four-year-old adopted daughter, whose extraordinary intelligence and exceptionally high IQ have made her a prime target for international bidders (including Iran, China, and the United Arab Emirates). 
Worldwide Alpha King Roman Davenport, royal partner Gage Stryker, Queen Ari, and Head of Security Sherman "Sherm" Foo call a mandatory global virtual meeting of all shapeshifter communities to mobilize a worldwide search. Dimitri Alexeyev and his elite Russian team are dispatched to the UAE to intercept the highest bidders. Meanwhile, back at The Compound, security is tightened, injured shifters (including the Komodo dragon alpha, Warman, and General Dickinson) recover, and new allies—such as three young Navajo warriors and a brilliant language expert named Alan Shilds—arrive to support the family. 
 
Tracking & Rescue in Abu Dhabi
Through psychic mind-talk, the Komodo dragon Novi manages to pick up Eddie's faint signals. Eddie discovers she is trapped in a metal box aboard a flight landing in Abu Dhabi. She is delivered to Sheikh Haider, a wealthy and powerful UAE ruler who paid $20 million to acquire her.
Dimitri and his team track the location of the Sheikh’s luxury villa. Simultaneously, Roman, Gage, Sherm, and an assembled force fly to the UAE. Arriving in full force aboard buses, the shifters bypass the villa's guards. When confronted inside the estate, Roman and Sherm command the local Arabic shifter guards to stand down. As the animal forms of the shifters are revealed, panic ensues among the humans. Eddie uses her tiger claws to free herself from the Sheikh's grip and runs safely back to her fathers and Sherm.
Justice and Final Resolution
With Eddie safely recovered, the leadership pivots to dealing with the kidnappers. Colonel Peterson and Lieutenant Everston—who had been captured earlier by Dimitri's team and held at an American expatriate's property nearby—attempt a desperate final escape when brought face-to-face with the kings. The attempt fails instantly as Roman, Sherm, Bill, and Gage (in their animal forms) pursue and overtake the traitors, bringing a definitive end to the threat against their family.
