The Kidnapping of a Tothar King
The story opens in the forest outside a secluded woodland house where Gage Stryker and Ari Davis—the ancient, royal shapeshifter Tothars—are thrown into a state of panic after Roman Davenport, their bonded life partner and fellow Tothar king, is tranquilized in his panther form and abducted by an unknown helicopter. Because of their deep, ironclad bond as a triad, Roman’s sudden separation leaves a physical ache and emotional void in both Gage and Ari. Teaming up with Panther Industries security head Sherman Foo and Navajo shifters led by Atsa, the group begins a frantic, high-tech search. 
 
The Trail to Italy
 
Forensic evidence and satellite tracking eventually lead the security team to a private hangar in Massachusetts, where airport personnel confirm that a private jet carrying a sedated panther was piloted by Stefano Bianchi toward Italy. Through brilliant hacking by their IT specialist Travis and a remote-viewing vision experienced by Ari, the target narrows down to a medieval palazzo in Fiuggi, Italy, ruled by an ancient saber-toothed tiger and Tothar king named Giuseppe Genovesi. Inside the palazzo's ancient tower, an emaciated and severely drugged Roman is being starved and held captive under Giuseppe's orders to eliminate rival Tothar royalty.
 
Justice at the Palazzo
 
An insider named Donatello, along with sympathetic members of the Italian compound who despise Giuseppe's tyranny, secretly reach out to help. A large contingency of American shifters, bears, commandos, and the royal family travel to Italy to execute a rescue mission. When confronted, a furious Ari shifts into a massive white liger and slays Giuseppe in a brutal battle to protect her mate.
 
A New Era
 
The group successfully rescues Roman, who is gravely weakened and still heavily sedated from the tranquilizers. They transport him back to the penthouse in Reading, Pennsylvania, where a specialized medical team works around the clock to save him. Meanwhile, ownership and leadership of the Italian palazzo are peacefully transferred to Donatello and Marco under the distant authority of Gage, Ari, and Roman, bridging the American and European Tothar worlds together with modern technology and mutual respect.
