Tilted (Book 3 of the Bonded Billionaire Shapeshifters series by D.G. Ireland):
1. The Incident and Gage’s Disappearance
The story opens following an auto accident in Reading, Pennsylvania. Gage Stryker—a Tothar shapeshifter and co-leader of Panther Industries—collides with a young driver named Cody Sprat. Suffering from a severe concussion and temporary amnesia, Gage leaves the scene, takes a taxi to a Harley-Davidson dealership in Leesport, buys a top-of-the-line motorcycle using cash and his American Express card, and rides off completely unaware of who he is, his life partners (Roman Davenport and Ari Davis), or his shifter nature.
Back at Panther Industries, Roman, Ari, security head Sherman "Sherm" Foo, and the rest of the team panic when Gage goes missing and fails to answer communications. Using security camera footage and tracking bank activity, Sherm and Roman trace Gage to the dealership and eventually launch a nationwide community alert among shifters.
2. The Discovery in Little Rock
Four days later, Gage pulls his motorcycle up to a rundown biker bar called Butch's Biker Bar in Little Rock, Arkansas. While in the restroom, a flash of his eagle alter-ego startles him in the mirror. A young local shifter named Tommy Littlefield recognizes Gage as the Tothar king and frantically reaches out to Roman via the shifter network.
Roman, Ari, Sherm, Big Bear Muchisky, and security personnel fly down to Arkansas via private jet and helicopter. When they arrive at the bar, an aggressive, large local patron named Earl tries to provoke Gage. Still suffering from amnesia, Gage effortlessly lifts Earl off the ground by his neck, displaying his raw shifter strength. Big Bear and Sherm intervene, and when Gage refuses to come willingly, Sherm tranquilizes him to safely transport him back to Reading. As a reward for his help, Roman provides Tommy with financial support, and Tommy agrees to haul Gage's motorcycle back to Pennsylvania in his truck.
3. Recovery and Medical Evaluation
Back in the penthouse, Gage wakes up with complete amnesia, viewing Roman, Ari, and their adopted young daughter, Eddie, as absolute strangers. Though drawn to them and the luxury of his home, his confusion and the tension of hiding their shifter society create a volatile environment. He experiences flashes of his past, explicit memories, and his eagle form.
Dr. Tanner and the herbalist Mr. Tran are brought in to evaluate Gage. An MRI at Reading Hospital thankfully clears him of internal bleeding, tumors, or brain lesions. Mr. Tran prescribes specialized herbal teas and drops to help clear his system and restore his cognitive balance.
4. Resolution
With the medical tests complete and the gentle prodding of little Eddie sharing old photo albums, Gage's memories finally snap back into place during the MRI scan. He remembers his past, his eagle form, and his bond with Roman and Ari.
Meanwhile, Tommy Littlefield arrives safely in Reading with the motorcycle, and the community welcomes him in. Trisha takes Tommy under her wing as a fellow big cat shifter, and Panther Industries prepares to offer him a job utilizing his exceptional troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Gage is successfully reintegrated into his family and business life, leaving the trauma of his amnesiac road trip behind.
